You Can Still Support Glamour Project During COVID-19 Isolation

Like everyone else, Glamour Project is concerned about the spread of the COVID-19 and safely navigating this health crisis. To protect our volunteers and the people we serve we have chosen to cancel scheduled events and will not be booking any new events until we know it is safe for everyone to participate. This does not mean our clients are not in need of services. There are still so many things you can do to support Glamour Project and the shelters they partner with.

While most of us are homebound because of closures, self-quarantine or mandated isolation. There is a lot to do in your home to stay busy and still contribute to Glamour Project. If we wanted to we could list 50 things for you to do for Glamour Project while you are cooped up in your home. But just a few are all that 's necessary. Use you imagination and creativity to think of ways to build on our suggestions and make the most of this time.

  1. With many retail store and other venues we use for daily shopping are closed or on limited hours, many of you are turning to online shopping more than ever. This is a perfect opportunity for you to sign up for Amazon Smile and choose Glamour Project as your charity. Shop this venue as much as possible to shor up the contribution from Amazon. Here are directions on how to setup Glamour Project as your chosen charity on Amazon Smile.

  2. Much of our time at home is being spent on social media as a way to spend time and keep track of our friends and family. Even on lockdown, family can be tiresome. A good way to take break from the tedium is to share Glamour Project on social media and the internet. Like our Facebook page and share Glamour Project’s posts with your Facebook friends. Follow our Instagram account and engage with our photos and Instagram Stories. Share GlamourProject.org with your family and friends so they can discover how to volunteer or donate to our organization.

  3. Spend your time cleaning and organizing your closets and drawers. Donate the things you no longer need or want. Glamour Project accepts jewelry, makeup, and clothing accessories that can be used for our events or these items can be donated to local shelters we work with.

  4. Shelters are in critical need of clothing, toiletries, and basic grooming essentials to help keep their residents healthy. If you think it’s hard for you to find these items it is impossible for people living on the streets or in shelters. So be generous.
